Elena Gorbashko

Dr. Elena Gorbashko is currently a chair professor in Economics and Quality Management, vice-rector for Quality and Education Projects of Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance (Russia). Her research areas have been quality management (also including higher education), competitiveness management, strategic management. Within these areas she has published more than 250 research papers and books in Russia, France, Greece, China. Under her supervision 4 Doctoral and 30 PhD theses were defended.

She is elected as a member of the International Board CONFRECO (La Conférence des recteurs des universités membres de l' Agence universitaire de la Francophonie en Europe centrale et orientale); a member of the International Academy of Construction Investment and Economics; a member of Russian Academy of Quality; a member of the European Academy of Science. She serves as a board member of the Russian Organisation for Quality, a member of Editorial board of Standards and Quality journal, an expert of Saint Petersburg Quality Award, an EFQM assessor, a federal expert at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, a coordinator at the Finnish-Russian Innovation University (FRIU), a member of 4 doctoral theses evaluation boards.

She has received several awards, among others Russian Ivan Ilyin Public Award in Quality for the outstanding achievement in the field of quality (2009), Award of Saint Petersburg Government for her contribution to higher education development (2007), Honored Academician (2010).
