Dr Elena Vasilieva

Dr Elena Vasilieva is currently a chair professor in Pedagogy and Psychology, vice-rector for Quality of the Northern State Medical University (Russia). Her research areas have been contemporary concepts of higher education development (in the field of medicine); issues of relationship, activities and interaction between the subjects of the educational process in higher education; quality assessment of the education; quality management of social systems. Within these areas she has published more than 150 research papers and books.

Elena Vasilieva has an extensive experience in the implementation of research projects. She is a member of doctoral theses evaluation board at the M. V. Lomonosov Northern Arctic Federal University. Since 2008 she works as a director of the Russian Academy of Sciences Research Center of Education Environment Monitoring of the European Center of Russia. She serves as an expert of the Russian Quality Award for the Higher Educational Institutions (since 2009), expert of the Federal Centre for Management Education, member of “Higher Education Expert Guild” (2010). Since 2010 she is a coordinator of TEMPUS IV project «Life - Long - Learning Framework for Medical University Teaching Staff».

She has received several awards, among others the Russian Development Fund Award for the best research paper in 2008, for the best reading book and research paper in 2009.
